Don't forget to Short your Google+ profile using sites like http://myplus.co and share it with the world. This will help your friend's and followers easily remember you and your profile. This will ensure more traffic and more followers to your profile.

Considering Google+ is in beta this doesn't come as a surprise to me. They have some interesting concepts but people are WAY to used to Facebook. Perhaps a secure, very private social network would bring in more people instead of so much openess?

you have a very good point there, Christian Adams. staying with our subject "Google Plus Profile avatar" I have been seeing many professional photographers creatively personalising their g+ profile on the "Scrapbook photos". the scrapbook photos in Google+ allows you to use 5 photos to be kept at the top of your profile page. if creatively arranged, the 5 photos can form a very nice looking profile. a good example on this is Brian Rose, (hint: every photo represents a letter, they all form one word).
if you're in G+, have a look at Felipe Apostol and Dariusz Majgier profiles.

for those who are looking to make a simple G+ profile avatar. here is a blog page to give you some hints:

Thanks for the lead generation techniques in your article. I use a software program to generate lead list that falls into your "Lead Collection Software". You are right in that I have to be "very creative with your search terms" to get a good list.

Well said and I get that.

However, it is more based on my experience that a lot of people that do not put a face on their avatar are going to spam me. It is a learned habit based on experience, not a deeply rooted philosophy I consciously do.

It is too bad people judge a book by the cover. I have been accused of being one of those who does the cliche self-portrait in the mirror (and even to be a follower), but it has become somewhat of my current branded picture. You see growing up as a self-conscious young man I didn't have a lot of confidence in my appearance and in someways still don't today. I think that is one of the reasons I got into photography in the first place. I was taking pictures of the pretty things and it wasn't about me and it will never about me. I want to be known for my work and that it can stand on its own two legs. I realize there is a difference between being confident and cocky, but I'd rather not take the chance where I start believing my own bull.

Do I need to "breakout of my comfort zone" from time to time? Yes. I actually have been trying to find time with another photographer friend to take a halfway decent photo of me. However, I am comfortable with who I am in that picture. It is always interesting when a new technology comes along how some well-known bloggers and interactive marketers like to use others as example to attempt to prove a point. Especially in the Social Media and online presence realm. You're conversational marketing grammar is horrible. Why aren't you an English teacher. You're too this. You're too that. I now know how a fat girl feels.

Are we really that petty that we have to break others down to attempt to make ones self feel good and more superior. How about we graduate from high school and do a little more research on the person behind the picture. I would say if you were a Warren Buffet C-level executive who didn't have milli-seconds to spend on decision making it would be a different issue. Yes. You only get split second decisions to make an impression, but that is not my goal. I build relationships with people by engaging with them and not by the way their picture looks. I don't build them off of false impressions.

Funny thing is I didn't add you to my circle because of your picture. I read your about page. Be known for the less petty things, create good content, and get over yourself.

I hope it has slightly better integration for the kickoff. Instant Upload sounds great but if it doesn't go to Picasa, Twitter, FB, I'll still have to find a way to send it there
